Literature Text

I found myself appeasing for a shame I kept inside,
And I never found it easy to completely heal the wound.
So I grovelled and grew weaker, became meeker than I was,
And left us with a feeling that I'd changed all for the worse.

Maybe I still loved you,
When I said it wasn't true,
And maybe I still loved you,
When I left you to be free.

Maybe I still love you,
For all you are right here today,
And maybe I'll still love you
When I'm ancient, frail and grey.
If I say goodbye a final time,
Let it be music between joined hearts.
A moment of silence
Broken only for life to start.
